Financial adviser Graham Sneddon has been awarded the financial planning profession's gold standard while also becoming a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.

Graham, pictured, of Saltford-based Sneddon Financial Planning Partnership, has attained the prestigious Chartered Financial Planner title from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) – a status only awarded to individuals who meet rigorous criteria relating to professionalism and capability.

All Chartered Financial Planners commit to the CII’s Code of Ethics, reinforcing the highest standards of professional practice in their business dealings.

Chartered status is reserved for the leading individuals in the financial advice market, demonstrated by the fact that just 5,000 financial planners have achieved it. Gaining the status earns the title of Fellow of the Personal Finance Society at the same time.

Graham has been advising clients for 20 years and, prior to accepting an invitation to join St. James’s Place Wealth Management as an associate partner practice in 2013, worked for large institutions such as NatWest, BUPA and Halifax.

He said: “I am extremely grateful to have received such prestigious external recognition of my professionalism. I have always been committed to providing a high-quality service and receiving chartered status is a big personal milestone.”

Sneddon Financial Planning Partnership specialises in providing high-quality personal advice on many aspects of wealth management, advising clients of widely differing financial resources and of all ages.

It also assists businesses in the increasingly complex area of corporate financial planning, providing guidance on pensions, protection for directors, key employees or shareholders, tax planning and aspects of exit strategy planning.

The CII promotes higher standards of integrity, technical competence and business capability. It is the world’s largest professional body dedicated to this sector with more than 100,000 members in 150-plus countries.
