Andrews, the Keynsham-based property group, has rounded off 2016 with another industry award, taking Silver in the training & development category at the Estate Agency of the Year Awards.

The firm, which has 55 branches across the South of England, was commended by the judges for the way in which it does not view training as simply an add-on but as a cornerstone of the group’s culture.

They also noted that the firm’s training and development is focused on successfully instilling the company’s values into the mindset of the entire team.

A special mention was made of how training and development had been central to the success of this year’s rebrand, which has taken place as the group celebrates its 70th year in business.

The judges highlighted the fact that employees themselves led this process and that the business model was based on a ‘triangle’, with people at the top and income flowing from there.

Group chief executive David Westgate said: “Andrews has gone through significant change during this year with a new brand identity being rolled out across the entire business and branch network and more latterly with me assuming the chief executive role.

“To be recognised for the way in which we invest in our people and support them to grow is testament to the dedication of the whole team. In particular, I’d like to extend thanks to Ian Yates, our head of learning & development, without whom none of this would be possible.

“We pride ourselves on monitoring and measuring the outputs of all training that we do so that we can be sure of evolving to meet the changing demands of the business and those of our clients and this award recognises that.”

Andrews’ success at the Estate Agency of the Year Awards, which took place in London last week, follows four awards at The Negotiator Awards last month and three at the Lettings Agency of the Year Awards in June.
