Bath-based Epoch Wealth Management has strengthened its advice team with the appointment of experienced financial specialist James Butler and additional support staff.

James has worked in financial services since 2008 and has managed both advisory and discretionary investment portfolios as well as advising high net worth and not-for-profit clients.

He joins Epoch from London-based discretionary investment firm Seven Investment Management, where he was a relationship manager. He will now be advising Epoch’s clients in both Bath and London.

As well as having the relevant financial planning qualifications, James has attained the Investment Advice Diploma and Investment Management Certificate and holds a Master’s Degree in both Wealth Management and International Banking & Finance.

Epoch also welcomes administrators Mel Gogarty and Emma Gould, who will be providing support to its senior team, and adviser assistant Dee Barbosa, who will work with adviser Ed Grobler and his clients.

Epoch managing partner Barry Newbury said: “James has great experience in investment management and we’re really excited to have him on board as a financial adviser. His appointment allows us to develop our presence in the capital whilst also freeing up resource to further grow our presence here in Bath.

“We’re also pleased to welcome Dee, Mel and Emma as they will be critical in helping the firm achieve further success and we wish them every success in their new roles here at Epoch.”

Epoch offers a full spectrum of services ranging from traditional portfolio management for individuals to specialist investment and tax planning for corporate clients including businesses, trusts and charities.
