Bath-based tech start up Cloudfind, which aims to revolutionise the way businesses use the cloud, has received a further £600,000 investment to fund further growth.

The firm plans to take information management into what it calls the ‘digital jetstream’ by cutting out wasted hours trying to find and organise huge amounts of data.

The new round of angel investor funding, which takes its total investment to more than £1m, comes after a successful product launch earlier this year and the addition of new customers in the US and UK.

Cloudfind’s technology works by automatically ‘tagging’ files according to what they relate to, such as particular projects, customers or document types so transforming how businesses find, share and organise information in the cloud.

These tags allows users to pinpoint relevant files in seconds with just a few clicks instead of spending hours each month browsing shared folders, workspaces or reviewing pages of search results.

By integrating with leading third-party cloud storage and collaboration platforms, Cloudfind instantly gives users a simpler, more intuitive way to work without having to move, copy or synchronise existing files.

Recent new customers for Cloudfind include Quantemplate, a specialist provider of reporting and analysis software for the insurance industry, which uses Cloudfind integrated with Google Drive and Salesforce.com.

Its head of client relations Richard Bowdler said: “Quick access to just the relevant information is key to business efficiency.

“Cloudfind removes the need for additional resources or complex IT systems to manage our information. Having a system that automatically and accurately classifies your documents is a huge time-saver.”

Cloudfind co-founder and CEO Sebastian Toke-Nichols said: “Our vision of the digital jetstream is all about helping businesses go beyond the cloud, to where information flows effortlessly, accurately and efficiently. This latest funding will help us realize that vision, and help thousands of businesses worldwide unlock the full benefit of moving to the cloud.”
