Actor Robert Powell, best known for the title role in Jesus of Nazareth, played a starring role of a different kind when he re-opened top jewellery designer Nicholas Wylde’s Bath shop.

Nicholas, one of Bath’s best known independent retailers, had been working from temporary locations around the city after a fire caused by an electrical fault destroyed the Northumberland Place store a year ago.

Nicholas has been designing and hand-making jewellery in Bath for over 25 years and is regarded as one of the top 50 jewellery designers in Britain. He also has a shop in Bristol.

He has created jewellery for TV and sports personalities as well as members of the Royal Family and his unique Wylde Flower Diamond is putting him among the top diamond designers in the world.

Nicholas said: “It's been a very long journey but, with the support of staff, clients, business colleagues and friends, we have achieved what seemed to be an impossible task and kept Nicholas Wylde trading in the only style I know, which is moving forward and looking after my clients.”

The refurbished shop has been completely renovated in a contemporary design, with new lighting and display systems, oak floors, client champagne bar, comfortable seating, wi-fi and phone charging facilities as well as a stunning new window facade.

To mark Valentine's Day, Nicholas has designed the Locked in Love jewellery collection, featuring a silver padlock pendant with inlaid rose gold heart, matching cufflinks and a mini heart padlock bracelet charm, with some designs also featuring a diamond.
