South West accountancy firm Milsted Langdon has appointed Ian Lloyd as a partner in its Bath office as it continues to grow its presence in the city.

Ian joins from Monahans, one of the largest independent accountancy firms in the region, where he was a partner. He brings with him a wealth of experience of advising owner-managed businesses across a wide range of sectors from farming to manufacturing.

Ian is a prominent member of the Country Landowners’ Association and the National Farmers Union and is also closely associated with other trade organisations including the Manufacturing Advisory Service, the Business Growth Service, the South West Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Business West.

As a trained Mindshop business facilitator, Ian is able to assist companies in developing strategic plans to help improve growth, profitability and business development.

In support of this work, he is a registered Growth Accelerator consultant. He is also a supplier of Growth Vouchers that are issued as part of a Government programme that provides funding to help businesses to pay for strategic business advice.

As a result of these links, Ian can advise on the full spectrum of grant funding available to all businesses, whether through LEP/local authority applications or private equity relationships, including crowd-funding opportunities.

Ian will work with Peter Groves – a director at Milsted Langdon with more than 30 years’ experience as a chartered accountant – to offer a broad range of tax-planning and commercially helpful advice to clients in and around Bath.

Milsted Langdon founder and chairman Jonathan Langdon said: “Ian will undoubtedly be well-known to many professionals in this area.

“His recruitment is evidence of our increased commitment to the city of Bath at a time when many of our competitors are scaling back their teams. Ian joining our practice is a big step in developing a fully-staffed Bath office and allows us to support our ever-growing client base in Bath and the surrounding area.”

As well as its Bath office in Queen Square, Milston Langdon also has bases in Bristol, Taunton, Yeovil and London.
