Law firm Stone King, which has the largest of its three offices in Bath, has appointed its 200th member of staff as it continues with ambitious plans to grow its regional and national legal teams.

The arrival of Sean Knight, who joins as a paralegal in the trusts and estates team, marks a milestone for the firm. Stone King boasts a continuous working history in Bath for more than 228 years. It opened a London office in 1990 and in 2007 set up a base in Cambridge specialising in charity and education work across East Anglia.

Mr Knight, a University of Bristol history graduate, recently completed a legal practice course at the University of Law in London, a key part of his training to become a qualified solicitor.

He will support the partners in Stone King’s trusts and estates team, who advise clients on their wills, powers of attorney and other estate planning matters.

Mr Knight’s arrival was welcomed to the firm by managing partner Steven Greenwood. It is the latest in a raft of new appointments at the firm, which was recently ranked in the top tier by the 2014 Legal 500 guide to the UK’s best performing law firms and solicitors.

Mr Greenwood said: “We are delighted to welcome Sean to our expanding firm as we celebrate this major landmark in our 200-plus year history.

“His arrival forms part of our ongoing strategy to grow our regional and national law teams by recruiting the very best legal practitioners and the brightest graduates.”
