Law firms show where there’s a will, there’s a way to help charity

A dozen firms of solicitors in the Bath area teamed up with The Forever Friends Appeal to give their support to its first ever Bath Royal United Hospitals Will Month scheme, raising £33,000.

The initiative last September offered the public the chance to have a will professionally drawn up at a reduced cost, with the solicitor fees waived and donated directly to the charity.

Among the firms taking part were Mowbray Woodwards, Withy King and BLB in Bath, Awdry Bailey & Douglas in Chippenham, Harris & Harris in Frome and Wells, and  Wards in Keynsham.

Solicitors in all the firms volunteered their time and expertise to write wills for local people, helping them to put their affairs in order, plan and secure the future of their loved ones while supporting the RUH.

Mowbray Woodwards partner and head of private client David Whitworth said: “We were delighted to be part of the first ever RUH Will Month scheme and help raise funds for such an important cause.”
