Independent brewer Bath Ales has re-introduced its strongest beer, the limited edition Rare Hare, to its range ahead of the Easter Bank Holiday.

Available in-store and on tap, Rare Hare is described by the brewery as “a smooth premium beer that is full in flavour, dry and clean on the palate”.

First developed by Bath Ales’ head brewer in 2002, the 5.2% vol chestnut-coloured beer has a dry, bitter taste with a hint of caramel and an aroma “topped off with toffee notes”.

Head brewer Gerry Condell said: “The appeal of Rare Hare lies in its smooth taste and each time it is released it proves very popular with our customers.

“The limited availability of Rare Hare, as well as its delicious taste, means that it is highly anticipated before it hits the pumps.”

Rare Hare can be bought in 500 ml bottles from Bath Ales’ website or its shop at its brewery in Warmley, between Bath and Bristol.

The Bath Ales range of beers also includes Barnsey, Dark Side, Wild Hare, Special Pale Ale, Ginger Hare and its flagship Gem bitter.
