Media: PR conference to focus on ‘reputation’

A line up of first-class speakers, workshops and networking opportunities all focused on the theme of ‘reputation’ is promised at the CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) West of England Communicators' Conference in May.

Among the speakers will be Stefan Stern, previously of the Financial Times and now at Edelman, and Suzanne Moore of The Mail on Sunday and The Guardian, who will give their views and thoughts on reputation in light of the Leveson inquiry and the rise of self-published news.

The event, called Reputation: How do you catch a wave upon the sand? includes an interactive workshop on staff engagement with the highly acclaimed Engage for Change consultancy.

The focus on sessions looking at the reputation of clients, employees and organisations follows feedback members of the CIPR – the professional body for the UK public relations industry – who attended last year’s West of England Communicators' Conference.

CIPR West of England Committee chair Sarah Pinch said: “We have developed a conference to give real skills and tools for communicators to take back into their place of work, to deliver real value in the region to our members and communicators from across the West of England.”

The conference takes place at Bristol’s Mercure Holland House Hotel on May 17.
