Howdens, the UK’s largest manufacturer of kitchens and joinery, has opened a base in a purpose-built unit in Midsomer Norton.

The firm, which operates more than 650 depots across the UK, has agreed a new 15-year lease on the 10,000 sq ft building at Westfield Industrial Estate.

The high-specification, self-contained unit was built by High Littleton-based Ken Biggs Contractors and means Howdens joins other trade businesses on the park, including builders' merchants Buildbase and home improvement chain Screwfix.

Carter Jonas Bath associate partner Alison Williams, who handled the letting on behalf of Ken Biggs Contractors, said: “Design-and-build industrial facilities of this kind are increasingly sought after. Westfield Industrial Estate has proven appeal for occupiers looking to service Bath and the surrounding area.”
