West of England law firm Mogers Drewett has formed a partnership with specialist insurer and financial planning adviser Lloyd & Whyte to offer bespoke legal services to its clients at discounted rates.

Lloyd & Whyte, based in Taunton, offers insurance and financial planning advice to healthcare professionals from dentists and optometrists to chiropractors and vets. It also provides cover for the owners of heritage properties and those with specialist interests ranging from amateur dramatics to classic cars.

Lawyers from Mogers Drewett’s private client team in its Bath office will be available to offer legal advice to Lloyd & Whyte clients on a range of issues, including:

  • Wills – an essential part of inheritance planning, in particular for people with valuable assets
  • Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) – should an accident or illness prevent someone from carrying out their wishes, they can choose up to four people they trust to make important decisions for them.
  • Trusts – the setting up of a trust can safeguard assets and capital, for example in the form of a trust for children where assets will be managed by trustees on the children’s behalf until they are old enough to do so themselves.

In addition, Mogers Drewett, which also has offices in Wells and Sherborne, will offer Lloyd & Whyte clients Wills and LPA health checks to review any arrangement they may already have in place to ensure they are still appropriate and valid.

As part of a package deal, when a Lloyd & Whyte client takes two or more services from Mogers Drewett, they will be entitled to an exclusive 10% discount on fees.

Mogers Drewett partner and head of private client David Hill, pictured, who is based in its Bath office, said: “Lloyd & Whyte’s clients have very particular needs given their professional and personal profiles. Our service is always geared to understanding people as individuals and tailoring our advice to their specific needs, so we feel that there is a great fit.”

Lloyd & Whyte CEO Matthew Pyke added: “We are very excited about the benefits that this will bring to our clients. Mogers Drewett have a team of solicitors who add a thoughtful touch to their legal expertise and like to get to know their clients, which matches our own ethos. We’re confident it will be a successful and value-adding partnership.”
