Water2business, the specialist retailer co-owned by Bath-based Wessex Water, has extended its partnership with UK-wide café chain Coffee#1 for a further two years.

Having set up the agreement two years ago, Water2business will continue to provide water and wastewater services to 84 of Coffee#1’s 100 sites.

The firm’s dedicated account management team will continue to improve the café group’s water efficiency and ensure timely, accurate consolidated billing.

The renewed partnership will also enable Water2business, which has 82,000 customers across the UK, to reduce Coffee#1’s water consumption and maximise efficiencies across its coffee shops – reducing their carbon footprint.

The contract extension follows a succession of similar agreements with leading national brands, including manufacturer Pirelli Tyres, Japanese restaurant chain itsu and health care Advinia, for which it saved more than £50,000 by introducing more streamlined water management processes across its 36 care homes.

Last year Water2business, which is co-owned by Wessex Water with Bristol Water, topped a prestigious industry rankings for the fifth consecutive year.

Set up in 2016 to supply the two utilities’ business customers, the firm’s specialist services include water efficiency audits, environmental performance, trade effluent services, expert account management, billing options, smart metering, benchmarking and expert advice on water supply and management.

Water2busines managing director Charley Maher said: “We are delighted to see another large national brand extend their partnership with us.

“Known for its friendly and welcoming customer service, Coffee#1’s ethos aligns perfectly with our own approach at water2business, sharing our commitment to customer excellence.

“We look forward to continuing to provide Coffee#1 with great service to manage their bills effectively and achieve their water efficiency goals in 2023 and beyond, as we continue to see our partnership flourish.”

Coffee#1 opened the doors of its first café more than 20 years ago. A spokesperson said it was delighted to renew the partnership with Nailsea-based Water2business.

“Our experience of working with them to date has been positive and our collective ambition to improve water efficiency makes it an easy choice for us to make,” they added.
