More takeovers on the way, says Cloud Direct as it notches up fifth acquisition

Cloud Direct, the acquisitive Bath-based cloud services firm, is on the takeover trail again after chalking up its fifth deal in less than two years.

Cloud Direct, a gold Microsoft CSP partner, said the addition of Connect Support Services’s skills and capacity bolster its key Microsoft product areas: Azure and Office 365.

The acquisition comes hot on the heels of Cloud Direct’s January acquisition of AOG Group, a Microsoft gold partner for hosting and communication.

The firm said it was actively seeking further acquisitions as it targets more growth.

Cloud Direct’s ongoing, ambitious organic and acquisitions-based growth strategy has also seen it snap up London-based managed service provider (MSP) Redblade last July and Datel Business Systems in June 2015 – a move which allowed it to work with customers in regulated industries.

Six months later it took over ihotdesk to add traditional on-premises IT support to its pure cloud portfolio.

The acquisition of Connect Support Services further strengthens Cloud Direct’s customer services and technical support capabilities. As a gold Microsoft CSP partner, the acquisition particularly strengthens Cloud Direct’s offerings around Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and hosted desktop.

Cloud Direct founder and CEO Brett Raynes, pictured, said: “Connect Support Services brings great people with a great ethos, as we continue to invest in cloud services that help small to midsize organisations become more competitive, productive and agile – mainly through our expertise in cloud migration and management.

“We’ve been helping businesses move to the cloud since 2003 – quickly, easily and securely. We’re excited to bring everyone from Connect on board so we can drive even better business continuity, people productivity and infrastructure for customers.”

Since 2003, Cloud Direct has helped 4,000 organisations move to the cloud.
