Bath law firm Mogers Drewett has strengthened its commercial property team with the appointment of experienced lawyer Helen Gate as an associate legal executive.

In her new role Helen, pictured, will advise clients on a range of issues, predominantly landlord and tenant matters, with a view to expanding her caseload to acquisitions, disposals and pension transactions.

Helen joins the firm from national law firm Clarke Willmott’s Bristol office, where she spent just over a year as a senior associate in the commercial property team, advising landowners on telecom agreements and disputes.

She previously worked for the Government Legal Department as a commercial property lawyer working in-house for the Ministry of Defence in Bristol, advising on landlord and tenant matters, general estate management issues across the MoD portfolio and commercial procurement property support.

Prior to this, she was a legal adviser at telecoms company Orange, negotiating leases for the infrastructure roll-out of what are now, EE masts. She has also worked at international practice Osborne Clarke in Bristol as a legal executive.

Mogers Drewett partner Justin Hopkins, who heads its commercial property offering, said the firm was really excited to welcome Helen to its growing team.

“She has tremendous property experience in both the public and private sectors and unrivalled knowledge of the telecoms sector,” he added,

“I’m sure her expertise will be in great demand among our many commercial clients.”

Mogers Drewett, which also has offices in Sherborne, Wells and Frome, employs nearly 100 people providing a full range of legal services for businesses and individuals.
