Recruitment company 24-7 Staffing’s decision to open an office in Amesbury has paid off, with it beating its targets by more than 60% within months of its launch.

Chippenham-based24-7 Staffing, which also has a branch in Yate, near Bristol, decided to open in Amesbury because of the town’s growth potential.

But bosses have been pleasantly surprised at how rapidly the new office has taken off and are now hoping for further expansion next year.

Managing director Julian Thompson said: “Opening in Amesbury was a strategic decision, which is reaping rewards.

“Amesbury is a smaller town for us to be in than our other two offices , but we chose it because there are 2,500 more homes planned to be built there in the future, along with allocated employment land.

“Neighbouring Tidworth is also the site of one of the Ministry of Defence’s new ‘super-garrisons’, which will bring a large military population and their families into the area.

“Opening in Amesbury was part of planning ahead for the business, but already the branch is doing incredibly well.”

The office is managed by Shane Stevens with consultant Beverley Winning, who between them have many years recruitment experience and have plans to take on more staff.

24-7 Staffing specialises in providing permanent, temporary and contract staff for the driving, industrial, commercial and healthcare sectors. It is an accredited centre with JAUPT (Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training) for driver CPC training, and also has training provisions for its industrial, commercial and healthcare sectors, as well as first aid training.

Julian Thompson added: “Driving and healthcare sectors often go hand-in-hand in families, particularly in the military, as the jobs are usually shift-based and can be worked around family life.”
