Gradwell, the Bath-based communication technology firm, has appointed Simon Mewett as CEO, replacing Nick Thompson, who has resigned after three years in the role.

Simon, pictured, has 26 years’ experience in the tech sector. He previously held leadership positions at communications firm Easy Group and, most recently, C4L, the leading Poole-based colocation, connectivity, cloud and communications provider.

He has joined Gradwell to drive forward the company’s strategy of being simpler to work with; and to provide a solid platform for the business to continue to grow.

Gradwell will continue to focus on its promise to deliver a great customer experience for its calls, connectivity and cloud customers, he said.

“I am delighted to work with such an established company and look forward to building compelling customer propositions,” he said.

Peter Gradwell, who launched the business in 1998, said: “I would like to take the opportunity to wish Nick all the best for his future endeavours, and we look forward to working with Simon and leveraging his all-round business expertise.”

Gradwell employs more than 70 people providing award-winning communications technology that works for small businesses.

Its voice over IP (VoIP) internet-based telephony, superfast broadband and cloud communications is used by more than 22,000 small businesses and partners across the UK.
