Emberson Group, the Bath-based network of creative, marketing and lead generation agencies, has appointed Laura Parsonage as finance director.

Laura, pictured, joins the group’s board to boost its acquisition strategy and help future-proof its financial growth plans as it moves into a new phase of expansion.

She will also be responsible for the execution of the financial strategy, control and analysis across the group.

A member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Laura holds a BA Hons degree from the University of Bath.

She started her career at accountancy firm Grant Thornton, working primarily with small and medium-sized businesses.

Five years later she made her first move into industry and has since worked with design agencies, including Bristol-based Oakwood Media Group, helping them build and improve their financial systems and processes.

Emberson Group managing director Clare Emberson Pratt said: “Laura is a valuable addition to the Emberson board, bringing significant financial and commercial experience from her previous agency roles.

“We believe in fostering exceptional talent and, as a result, the people who choose to join us are likeminded and share the same purpose.

“We are working hard to create and evolve a sustainable group of market-leading, creative companies to benefit all of our stakeholders. Laura joins us at a pivotal time to support our core sustainability focus on people, profits and the reduction of our environmental impact.”

Laura said it was an exciting time to be joining the business.

“I have the greatest respect for the creativity, leadership and award-winning client service, coupled with Emberson’s commitment to building a sustainable future,” she added.

“I’m looking forward to working with the whole group in its next phase of growth and expansion as more people join us.”

Formed in 2010, Emberson is an entirely distributed group of creative, marketing and lead generation agencies, founded on the guiding principle that it is possible to ‘do well and do good’.

In 2019 it received a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for international trade for its sustained growth in export markets and last year its sales reached £2m.
