New general manager with strong track record checks in to Bath’s luxury Francis Hotel

James McDevitt has been appointed as general manager of Francis Hotel Bath, part of the MGallery UK group.

An American national, James, pictured, joins from the 187-bedroom Hotel Indigo Manchester, where he managed the pre-opening and opening phase. 
His previous roles include high-level positions at Hotel Du Vin Harrogate and Macdonald Hotels & Resorts.
 
James said: “It’s a hugely exciting time to be joining the team in Bath and I very much look forward to developing the hotel’s luxury offering.”
 
Originally opened by Emily Francis, who merged seven Georgian townhouses to form the hotel, the 98-room boutique venue, pictured, on Queen Square was the first UK to launch as an MGallery Collection hotel in 2012.
 
It opened its latest restaurant, the Boho Marché, in December 2020.

The restaurant, which has a Mediterranean-meets-Morocco theme, offers indoor and outdoor dining as well as a private dining room for special ocassions. 

James replaces Steven Quick, who spent eight months as the Francis’ general manager in a role that also combined central support work for two other MGallery hotels.
 
MGallery Hotel Collection is part of Accor, the global hospitality group with more than 5,100 properties and 10,000 food and beverage venues throughout 110 countries.
