Bath Racecourse has appointed Katie Stephens as its new general manager. Katie was previously at Hereford Racecourse where she made racing industry history as the youngest female general manager at just 26 before joining the team at Bath last year as clerk of the course.

While not busy at Bath Racecourse, Katie and jump jockey husband Lee Stephens breed racehorses – they have even bred a winner!

Katie, pictured, said: “I’m delighted to be taking charge of such a talented and enthusiastic team at Bath.

“The racecourse already has a vibrant commercial business not only on days when there is horse racing but also on every other day when the facilities are used by private companies and public organisations. With an exciting programme of racedays and events lined up for 2013 it’s set to be another great year.”

Katie replaces Jo Hall as general manager.

Bath Racecourse begins its 2013 season on April 19 and will host 20 fixtures between then and October.
