Rotork, the Bath-based specialist manufacturing group, today appointed Helen Barrett-Hague as its new group general counsel and company secretary with immediate effect.

Helen, pictured, arrives at Rotork – the world-leader in the design and manufacture of specialist valves for the oil and gas industry – from utility group Pennon, where she was general counsel and company secretary for three years.

After starting her career working in private practice, Helen moved in-house in 1999 and went on to hold positions of responsibility for companies including PA Consulting, Generics Group AG, AVEVA Group and Avent before she joined Pennon.

She has extensive corporate and commercial experience including capital raisings, initial public offerings, corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions both in the UK and abroad.

She is responsible for providing legal, secretarial and compliance services, as well as supporting the chairman and board to ensure the company’s high governance standards continue to be met.

Rotork chief executive Kevin Hostetler said: “I’m delighted to announce Helen’s. She has held a number of general counsel and company secretary roles and brings a wealth of experience from different sectors."

Helen takes over from Sarah Parsons, who undertook the role following the retirement of Stephen Jones.
