Regional law firm Mogers Drewett has strengthened its private client department’s later life support offering with the appointment of Sarah Dodd as head of the team, based in its Bath office.

Sarah, pictured, joined Mogers Drewett in 2015, after qualifying in South Africa as an attorney. She brings 15 years’ post qualification experience to the role, including a directorship at her previous firm. She is a full member of Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP).

The later life support team provides services for later life and vulnerable clients, including elderly, special needs or children, and specifically focuses on issues such as care home management, lasting power of attorney, order protection, wills and looking after affairs for the elderly.

Sarah said: “The later life support service at Mogers Drewett has become more specific. We have a team of four dedicated to the challenges that vulnerable private clients, and especially older people face. We are an increasingly aged population, so the need for these services is growing and becoming more critical.

“It is right that the team is given more focus and empathises with the challenges that these groups face, and can provide a service that is suitable, including how elderly people prefer to be contacted. Many do not use email and other modern methods of communication, so we offer a bespoke approach for each client and pride ourselves on the level of personal service we provide.”

Head of Mogers Drewett’s private client department, Rory McFarlane, said Sarah brought a great deal of experience and empathy to the team.

“Later life services are a growing area of the business and to correctly address that demand, we need people of Sarah’s calibre and character,” he said.
