Accountancy firm Baker Tilly has appointed Kate Reid as managing partner for its Bath and Bristol offices.

Kate, pictured, joined Baker Tilly as a partner in 2010. In her new role she will be responsible for the firm’s strategy and business development in the Bristol and Bath markets, and forging a close working relationship with the firm’s Swindon office.

Kate, who graduated from Cardiff University, completed her training at a ‘big four’ accountancy firm. Her career has since included being head of finance for retail chain Giles Sports and as a partner and board member of seven-partner Welsh accountancy firm Watts Gregory.

As well as being a Baker Tilly audit partner, Kate is a business advisory specialist with significant expertise in advising on growth strategies, systems and processes and change management.

She said: “The economy in the South West is showing encouraging signs of growth so it’s a very exciting time to be taking on this role. Over the coming months, we expect to invest significantly in new talent so that we enhance our services and support to our SME and owner managed business clients to help them achieve their business goals.”

Baker Tilly’s Bristol and Bath offices have seven partners and 100 staff offering a full range of audit, accountancy, tax, corporate finance, restructuring and business advisory services.
