Kelly Pepworth, managing partner, business and corporate, at Bristol PR firm Speed Communications, has been appointed as the South West and Wales chairman of the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA).

Kelly, pictured, who has worked for a number of PR agencies across the West of England, brings more than 20 years’ experience to her new position with the PRCA. Her experience in B2B and corporate communications across many markets will help to drive fresh ideas to support members in the region.

She will work alongside the PRCA’s South West and Wales co-ordinator Pippa Carson and the 19 PRCA group members across the South West and Wales, to deliver high-quality advice, events and support in all areas.

PRCA director general Francis Ingham said: “We are delighted to have Kelly on board as the new South West and Wales chairman. By working closely with her, we intend to increase the range of opportunities available to our members in the South West and Wales.”

Kelly said: “The PRCA is a valuable forum that can provide support of benefit to every member. I am excited to take up the position of chairman and engage more freelancers, agency teams and in-house comms professionals to take advantage of the association and the value it can deliver.”

Kelly will also work closely with PRCA groups manager Tayana Grundy. Kelly joined the PR arm of Bristol integrated communications agency Bray Leino in 2006. The division was rebranded as Speed Communications last year after Speed was acquired by Bray Leino parent The Mission marketing group. Kelly has also worked for NB Public Relations and Leedex in Bristol and Splash Communications in Bath.
