Bath-based specialist lender 1pm has promoted Andrew Gosling to sales manager in its vehicles division.

Andrew, pictured, will be responsible for growing sales and profitability in line with the group’s vision.

The appointment follows a restructuring and strengthening of 1pm’s senior management teams, including Mark Burgess becoming head of vehicles and Lorraine Neyland as head of risk.

1pm, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market, provides access to a multi-product range of business finance packages from asset finance, invoice finance, commercial loans through to vehicle finance.

Recent figures show that 30% of small and medium-sized businesses make use of leasing, hire purchase or vehicle finance. 1pm believes there is a big opportunity to bring greater awareness to the market around the flexibility that these financial solutions can offer.

Andrew brings with him 25 years’ experience in the contract hire and fleet management industry. Having started his career at LeasePlan selling courtesy cars in the direct sales team, he was quickly promoted to business development selling into fleets of between 100 and 700 vehicles.

Moving to Pendragon, he built a team to work with its group dealerships and contract hire brokers before starting his own contract hire business leading the sales team and partner relationships.

1pm said his experience equipped him with the knowledge and expertise to lead its sales team and drive expansion in the vehicles division.

Andrew said: “Having Joined 1pm in July, spending five months on the ground floor taking inquiries and converting to end-user sales, this experience has allowed me to ask questions of the current structure and recognise how things can improve to make the sales team more successful and deliver the growth required by the group. The atmosphere at 1pm is amazing and it’s a great place to work and I am proud to lead the sales team into 2020.”

Head of vehicles at 1pm Mark Burgess added: “We have an opportunity to grow the vehicles division as part of the 1pm group and Andy has exactly the right blend of experience and motivation to take the department to the next level.”
