Bath luxury hotel Homewood has recruited a number of new staff, including a new general manager and executive head chef, and is also to join the Mr & Mrs Smith Collection, the travel club for hotel lovers.

The 21-room hotel in Freshford has taken on Ed Fitzpatrick as general manager from the renown Lygon Arms in Broadway in the Cotswolds.

Other new additions include Jamie Foreman as executive head chef, Rui de Carvalho (deputy general manager), Claudio Gheorghita (food and beverage manager), Lewis Collins (events manager), Ania Malecka (guest relations manager) and Barbara Anabella-Soria (head housekeeper).

The hotel, part of the Bath boutique hotel group the Kaleidoscope Collection group, relaunched late last year with renovated bedrooms and a new spa. It is adding a further 11 bedrooms in June, along with four glamping yurts and an outdoor terrace.

Kaleidoscope owner Ian Taylor said: “We’re delighted to have someone of Ed’s calibre joining us here at Homewood.

“He’s got a fantastic background in five-star operations and we’re looking forward to him propelling Homewood to the next level.”

Mr & Mrs Smith began life in 2003 with two adventurous hotel lovers and has evolved into a global travel club with a million like-minded members in more than 100 countries.

The Kaleidoscope Collection also owns the 31-bedroom The Bird, Bath on Pulteney Road.
