Five senior executives from Bath-based financial services firm Novia Group are hoping to bring in £25,000 for charity by taking on the Three Peaks Challenge later this month.

Taking part on 29 July will be CEO Patrick Mill, chief people officer Vicki Baker, chief risk officer Tom Dudley, chief customer officer Lucy Bristow and Robert Vaudry, managing director of Novia’s investment solutions division Copia Capital Management and chair of the Novia Foundation.

Novia formed the foundation five years ago to more efficiently channel its fundraising efforts in Bath, where its main beneficiary has been Mentoring Plus, a charity helping young people who are struggling with school, family or wellbeing.

Following the firm’s acquisition by international private equity firm AnaCap Financial two years ago it now it plans to extend its reach to include initiatives benefiting communities in London and Salisbury, reflecting the locations of Copia and Wealthtime, a fintech firm also owned by AnaCap.

All money raised from the Three Peaks Challenge will go to the Novia Foundation’s three chosen charities for this year.

Along with Mentoring Plus, these include The Rose Gale Trust, which helps young people living in Salisbury fulfil their potential by assisting with access employment, education and training as well as providing crisis support, and East London Business Alliance (ELBA), a charity building partnerships between business and the community to support people into work.

Considered one of Britain’s toughest outdoor challenges, Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales – all within 24 hours.

Robert Vaudry, pictured on a recent training climb on Scafell Pike, said: “We’re under no illusions about the scale of the challenge ahead of us, but training is well underway and raising much needed funds for these three very worthy causes will help spur us to the top.”

Novia was launched in 2008 by former chief executive Bill Vasilieff, who built it up to become one of the UK’s leading wealth management platforms capable of competing against the giants of the financial services industry.

It launched Copia in 2013 as a discretionary fund manager, working exclusively with IFAs to construct superior portfolios to meet client needs across the full risk-return spectrum.
