Office move and new appointment for expanding Bath family law firm Crallan

October 17, 2012

Bath-based Crallan Family and Divorce Solicitors has recruited a new senior associate and relocated to bigger premises in the city.

The firm was established in August 2008 in Queen Square by family law specialist Richard Crallan.

With the arrival of solicitor Louise Higham in May, Richard decided the firm needed more room and it has now moved to larger offices in Manvers Street.

Richard said: “Our new office is in a prominent position in the city and will increase our visibility.

“Taking on another lawyer is a big step for the firm and Louise is a very experienced solicitor with a clear understanding of clients’ differing situations and has a very sympathetic but robust approach to dealing with difficult cases.”

Louise, who qualified as a solicitor 16 years ago, has moved to Crallan Family and Divorce Solicitors from a large Bristol law firm, where she was team leader in the family law department.

She said: “For me it was the right move to make towards a smaller firm specialising in family law and I’m really loving it, working in Bath and for a firm with such a refreshing approach.

“Richard has a vibrant, dynamic approach to family law and we’re here to help our clients through what can be a difficult time and a difficult process.”

Richard, who qualified as a specialist in family law in 1991, first worked with Louise during 10 years as a barrister representing family law clients in court.

He moved to top family law firm Sears Tooth in London’s Mayfair, which deals with wealthy and well-connected individuals, before spending three years working in Australia as a family lawyer.

On his return he moved to Bath and built up his business, which now deals with between 40 and 60 cases a year.

Richard said: “The majority of our clients are from Bath and Bristol, with quite a few from London. Most come to us through personal recommendations.”
