Specialist elderly client and incapacity lawyer Edward Vidnes has been made a partner in the Bath head office of regional law firm Royds Withy King.

Edward, pictured, who joined the firm four years ago, is part of its 30-strong private client team in Bath and specialises in later life issues, working closely with individuals and their families on a wide variety of issues covering wills, Powers of Attorney and Deputyships, personal injury trusts and estate administrations.

He is an affiliate member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) and a fully accredited member of SFE (Solicitors for the Elderly)

Royds Withy King head of the private client team James McNeile said: “We are delighted to announce Ed’s promotion to partner, which is well-deserved recognition for his hard work and dedication to his clients, colleagues and the wider firm.

“Throughout his career Ed has proved himself to be a highly skilled and motivated professional who is highly regarded by his peers and the many elderly clients and families that work with him.”

Edward added: “Since joining the firm I have been lucky to further my work in the area of elderly and incapacitated while continuing to advise clients on wills and estate administration.

“I’ve passed STEP’s Advanced Certificate in Advising Vulnerable People with distinction and become a Dementia Friend. This enables me to offer my clients a more specialist level of advice with a greater understanding of their needs. As the demographic of society continues to change and people live longer, the challenges in this evolving area make my work both challenging and enjoyable in equal measure.”

Royds Withy King employs more than 470 staff across its offices in Bath, London, Oxford and Wiltshire.
