Award-winning Bath-based architecture, urban design, planning and regeneration consultancy Nash Partnership has expanded its senior management team by promoting associate Daniel Lugsden to partner.

In a strategic move which reflects a general growth across the practice, Daniel, pictured, joins senior partner Edward Nash and partner Robert Locke in managing the consultancy.

Daniel joined Nash Partnership in 2002 from Kay Elliott Architects in Devon. During that time, the practice has grown from 15 staff to nearly 40, including architects, urban designers, planners, regeneration and conservation specialists, urban geographers and support staff.

Daniel’s promotion follows the recent appointment at senior level of second planning director Mike Fox to the Bath office.

Daniel leads the architectural design service at Nash Partnership and will continue his design role while helping to ensure the right mix of leadership skills at senior management level to front a growing firm.

Since joining Nash Partnership, he has worked on a range of projects across the South West as well as in London and Scotland. He is leading design work for the high-profile proposed regeneration of Roseberry Place – the key site in Bath earmarked for re-development as part of the river corridor regeneration.

Other work includes managing multiple design-led extensions to the listed building and grounds at Holystreet Manor in Devon, and designs for a large hotel, conference and events centre and spa in Scotland.

Daniel’s new role is one of three recent promotions at the practice which include senior architects John Everett and Jon Cheek have been promoted to associate.

Senior partner Edward Nash said: “Our practice continues to grow and our architecture service in particular is going from strength to strength. This service is benefitting from the recent resurgence of the construction industry and we have a very healthy number of high profile commissions on the books. The recent promotions will help to ensure we have the right skills at the right levels to resource the range of services we offer.

“Importantly, we are also committed to developing our people by growing the firm organically where possible. Daniel’s exceptional leadership qualities, energy and forward-thinking approach stand us in very good stead for the future and we are delighted to welcome him to the partnership. We are also very pleased to have nurtured the talents of Jon Cheek and John Everett to Associate level, and we wish them all every success in this exciting new stage of their careers.”

Daniel said he was delighted to join in steering the practice to help ensure its continued success.

“I am motivated and ambitious, just like the practice itself, so to commit my energy and enthusiasm to the business is very exciting. We are well equipped for the future and I look forward to taking on new opportunities presented by the industry.”
