Bath Rugby has extended its contract with CircleBath Hospital, taking the partnership into its fourth year.

Under the agreement, the club has use of the hospital’s radiology department for sports injury treatment. The players also have access to the expertise of CircleBath’s world-class consultants, including Dr Julian Widdowson, its lead practitioner for sports medicine and a consultant at the club.

Bath Rugby is a member of Circle’s Associate Programme, which allows its medical staff to participate in continued professional development courses and lectures run by the hospital.

Bath Rugby head of sports medicine Richard Mack said: “The nature of professional sport is that access to top-class medical facilities is time critical, and our partnership with CircleBath allows for expediency in this regard.

“Their thorough work and great service allows us to make informed decisions on the treatment of our players.”

CircleBath is one of five hospitals across England run by the Circle private healthcare group.
