The first apprentice taken on by specialist IT support business Priority IT has secured a full-time job with the firm, which has now recruited its second apprentice.

Adam Townsend joined the Trowbridge-based firm a year ago from Wiltshire College, where he obtained an Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification in IT.

The 19-year-old has been promoted to the position of junior IT technician and will help deal with technical queries from the firm’s many business clients.

Replacing him as the company’s apprentice is Cameron Livingstone-Elder, who also joins from Wiltshire College.

He and Adam will both be working towards their Level 4 Apprenticeship and CompTIA Network+ qualifications to develop further their IT skills.

Priority IT managing director Kieran Thomas said: “We are delighted to announce that Adam – who was our first ever apprentice – has now been given a full-time role with the firm.

“We have been impressed with his hard work and determination and wish him every success in his new job. We are also pleased to welcome Cameron as our second apprentice and also wish him well.”

Priority IT was set up in 2010 by experienced IT consultant Kieran Thomas, who has worked in the industry since 1997. The firm provides database and application programming services to help organisations streamline day-to-day tasks and work more efficiently and securely.
