Bath-based law firm Mowbray Woodwards has further strengthened its growing private client team with two key appointments.

Annette Campbell joins as a solicitor from Veale Wasbrough Vizards in Bristol, where she started her legal career in 2006 specialising in helping private clients put their personal affairs in order. Gemma Buxton joins as a paralegal.

Annette has extensive experience in assisting with wills, estate and trust administration, inheritance tax planning and advising on lasting powers of attorney, court of protection matters and mental capacity issues.

Annette was previously project and policy officer for Bath and North East Somerset Council prior to qualifying as a solicitor. She has returned to Bath to help grow Mowbray Woodwards’ private client business regionally and nationally.

She is an associate member of Solicitors for the Elderly, is nearing completion of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Diploma and has written for several publications on private client matters.

She said: “Mowbray Woodwards has a first-class reputation for providing clients with expert legal advice and exceptional servi

ce and I am thrilled to be part of its expansion plans as it looks to increase its private client side of the business.

“I am passionate about helping people and my work in advising clients on private legal matters on everything from drafting wills, estate planning to inheritance tax issues and helping them plan for the future enables me to do just that.”

Gemma Buxton is responsible for providing vital support to the legal team while gaining valuable experience as she continues her studies at CILEx Law School to become a qualified legal executive.

Partner David Whitworth, who heads Mowbray Woodwards’ private client team, said: “Our business is expanding and we need to take on the right calibre of staff that we know will deliver the best service to our clients.

“Annette’s specialist expertise will significantly strengthen Mowbray Woodwards’ eight strong private client legal offering and Gemma’s excellent skills as a paralegal and ambitious law student will be a huge support to the team. We are delighted to welcome them on board.”
