Dr Beatriz Molina, founder of Somerset-based aesthetic medicine company Medikas, has been appointed vice-president of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine (BACM).

Dr Molina, who launched the business in Street in 2005 and opened a Bath clinic in 2011, is known as an international expert and speaker on non-surgical cosmetic medicine.

BCAM aims to advance the effective, safe and ethical practice of aesthetic medicine to the benefit of all concerned. It promotes this through leadership, provision of information, education, support, professional development and the maintenance of the highest professional standards.

Dr Molina, who trained as a surgeon and has worked as a GP, said: “I’m thrilled to be given this honour and I passionately believe that aesthetic medicine is of enormous benefit to society, giving people confidence in their appearance which in turn promotes good health and wellbeing.

“I also look forward to raising awareness around best practice and celebrating those practitioners who operate to the highest and most ethical standards of care.”

Medikas also has a clinic in Bristol.
