A Grade-II listed building in Bath’s Kingsmead Square has opened as the Society Café.

Change of use for the 1,086 sq ft former showroom and offices was secured by HPH Commercial Property, also based in the historic square.

The new café has been opened by Adrian and Jane Campbell-Howard who formerly worked under Macro Pierre White and have ran restaurants across the world.

HPH managing director Lindsay Holdoway said: "Kingsmead Square is a destination in its own right with an eclectic mix of independent businesses, retail operations, cafes and restaurants.

"We are working with both Bath and North East Somerset Council and the BID to further develop the quality and use of the public realm.

"The Society Café has helped to add to the vibrancy of the square making it even more inviting to tourists and locals alike. We see this as an extremely positive step, particularly with the expansion of the City of Bath College and the recent planning permission granted to create a number of hotels very close by."

Jones Lang LaSalle’s Bath office was the agent for the property.
