Beauty products retailer Molton Brown has moved from New Bond Street in Bath to new premises in Union Street, taking a little under 2,150 sq ft.

The move, which provides almost 1,500 sq ft of sales space and has effectively trebled its sales area in the city, is welcomed by Mike McElhinney, head of the Bath office at property agents Jones Lang LaSalle, who handled the transaction on behalf of the landlords.

He said: “This shop became vacant following the administration of ladies’ fashion brand Jane Norman earlier in the year. The move by Molton Brown is a very positive statement about the strength and quality of the retail market in Bath which is bucking national trends. We already have a number of good retailers considering the unit next door which is currently occupied by Disney.”

That shop is due to become vacant in early 2013 following Disney’s decision to close, which was announced a few weeks ago.
