One of Bath’s prime office buildings, Cambridge House on Henry Street, has begun a substantial makeover and expansion and all is due to be revealed at the end of July.

An entire new floor is being built on top of the existing building. Leading property consultancy Jones Lang LaSalle’s Bath office  is managing the refurbishment and rebuilding work, on behalf of Maybrook Properties.

This speculative office redevelopment and extension shows renewed confidence in the market and reflects the wider improvements that have taken place in the immediate area.

As well as the additional 5,000 sq ft fifth floor; the existing 11,000 sq ft of office space is being fully refitted with high specification washrooms incorporating showers and full facilities for the disabled, an extended lift, air conditioning plus new lighting and fitted carpets.

Jones Lang LaSalle director John Mulholland said: “Cambridge House is an ideal location for the wealth of businesses, both new and established, that are looking to make Bath city centre their base.  The two existing floors (floors three and four) are being refurbished to the highest specifications, and the additional fifth floor will become a prime location with views across the city.

“Making use of the air space, in a manner that is sympathetic to the skyline of this world heritage city, is an important way of encouraging further investment into the heart of Bath .”

All three floors of open plan office accommodation will be available from July.
