An organisation that mentors and encourages the next generation of professionals to become future leaders in the office sector has appointed lawyer Drew Nesbitt as its new regional chairman.

Drew, pictured, a senior associate in Bristol-headquartered law firm Burges Salmon’s real estate team, will lead the British Council for Offices (BCO) NextGen in the South West and South Wales.

BCO NextGen also provides a platform for new talent to air their ideas. Since its launch in 2009, NextGen, both regionally and nationally, has been going from strength to strength.

As South West and South Wales chair, Drew will lead a committee made up of seven professionals from across the region. It will focus on links with leading education bodies and provide a varied programme of seminars and networking events to the membership.

Drew said: “It is a privilege to be appointed chairman of the BCO NextGen Committee in the South West and South Wales. I, with the help of the NextGen Committee, look forward to helping to develop the next generation of professionals in the office sector in the South West and Wales over the coming year.”

Head of Burges Salmon’s real estate practice, Colin Ligman, added: “We are delighted to see Drew’s appointment as the new chairman of the NextGen Committee, which is richly deserved and reflects the work that both he and the team undertake for our diverse portfolio of clients in the real estate sector.”

BCO was established in 1990 to research, develop and communicate best practice in all aspects of the office sector. It has since become Britain’s leading forum for the discussion and debate of issues affecting the office sector.
