Bath-headquartered law firm RWK Goodman has been named as one of the best in the UK for family law in a new report.

Eprivateclient, a leading website and news service for private client practitioners, including lawyers and accountants, surveyed more than 100 law firms to identify, recognise and promote the best.

The inclusion in the table for RWK Goodman, which was formed earlier this year from the merger of Bath-headquartered Royds Withy King and London practice Goodman Derrick, follows strong showings for the firm in the UK’s two main legal directories – the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.

Royds Withy King had appeared in last year’s eprivateclient Top Family Law Firms report.

This year the merged firm is named alongside major national practices such as Mishcon de Reya and Stowe Family Law, which has an office in Bath.

According to the eprivateclient report, RWK has six family law partners and 20 fee-earners. The team was responsible for an estimated 9% of the firm’s total revenue in 2021, according to eprivateclient.

RWK Goodman partner Simon Bassett said: “We are pleased to be ranked as one of the leading family law firms in the UK which complements our position as a top tier firm in both The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners.

“This recognition will be widely welcomed by our dedicated team who care passionately about their clients  and work tirelessly to support them, when needed most.”

As well as its two offices in Bath – Northumberland Buildings in Queen Square and Midland Bridge House on Midland Bridge – RWK Goodman also has offices in Bristol, Swindon, Oxford and London. The firm employs more than 500 people.
