Rotork expands with £34m acquisition of German engineering group

Bath specialist engineering group Rotork has acquired German electric actuator manufacturer Schischek for €41m (£34m)

Schischek’s explosion-proof products are principally used in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning market.

Rotork said the takeover would enhance is own range of explosion-proof actuators and give it exposure to an “attractive new end market”.

Schischek, whose main sites are in Langenzenn near Nuremberg in Southern Germany and Lutzenberg in Switzerland, will become part of Rotork’s Controls division. Schischek

Rotork chief executive Peter France said: “Schischek is an excellent addition to Rotork’s Controls division. Schischek’s explosion-proof products, which are highly regarded for their quality and reliability, will enhance our range of electric actuators and enlarge our addressable market.”
