Lawyers from the Bath office of Royds Withy King have handled the sale of a privately owned luxury hotel recently named as the best in Bristol.

The 20-bedroom Henbury Lodge Hotel, pictured, changed hands for an undisclosed sum in a deal in which Royds Withy King’s leisure and hospitality team acted for the private sellers.

The hotel occupies an historically-significant Grade II listed building in which dates back to the 1600s. The new buyers have retained the existing management team and staff of 16 people.

Bath-based head of Royds Withy King’s leisure and hospitality team, Caroline Entwistle, pictured, said: “It was a pleasure to work with our clients to secure a swift and successful sale within the agreed timescales to a local business.

The property has great character and was voted the top hotel in Bristol on TripAdvisor, so its appeal is easy to see.”

The identities of the sellers and buyers have remained under wraps.

Royds Withy King’s leisure and hospitality team offers a full range of legal services to hotels, restaurants, pubs and nightclubs, including business sales and acquisitions, licensing expertise, landlord and tenant, employment law, mergers and acquisitions and commercial contract advice.

Royds Withy King also has offices in Swindon, Marlborough, London and Oxford.
