Lizzy Painter, a solicitor in the Bath head office of law firm Royds Withy King, has become the new regional chair of a group representing the professional voice of young people in the UK built environment industry.

Generation for Change (G4C) aims to drive change in the industry by developing and connecting its future leaders. It has a network of 10 regions across the country.

Lizzy, pictured, specialises in construction and engineering and advises on project procurement and non-contentious construction and engineering matters to a client base that includes funders, developers, contractors and consultants.

She graduated from Cardiff University in 2013 with a degree in Philosophy and History, remaining there to complete her Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course (LPC).

Prior to completing her training contract at Royds Withy King, she worked as a paralegal in the banking and finance department for Ogier in Jersey.

Her expertise extends to contract analysis and negotiations and advising on risk analysis, procurement options, main contracts, sub-contracts, consultant appointments, collateral warranties, parent company guarantees and performance bonds.

She said she was delighted to be appointed as the new chair of G4C South West.

“I look forward to expanding on our message and goals as we continue to represent and promote the breadth of passion and opportunity in the industry across this region,” she added.

Lizzy also represents Royds Withy King on the Bath Young Professionals Committee, where she helps organise networking events for professionals in the city and raises money for local charities.7

Royds Withy King also has offices in Bristol, Swindon, Oxford and London, and employs around 520 people, including 70-plus partners.
