Apex City of Bath Hotel, which will be the city’s largest when it opens this summer, has appointed Amanda Jones as director of sales.

Amanda, pictured, was previously sales manager at Searcys – a role in which she promoted Bath historic venues such as the Roman Baths, Pump Room and Assembly Rooms to the corporate market.

Prior to that she was sales director at the von Essen Hotels group which included 21 luxury hotels across the UK – among them The Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath and Ston Easton Park, near Midsomer Norton.

The £35m Apex City of Bath Hotel is under construction on James Street West. It will have 177 bedrooms, restaurant, bar, gym, pool and spa facilities along with conference facilities for up to 300 guests.

It will be Edinburgh-based Apex’s 10th hotel and its first purpose-built four-star one.

Amanda said: “I am very excited to be part of the Apex team launching and introducing a great addition to the city.”

General manager Tim O’Sullivan added: “I’m really excited to welcome Amanda to the Apex team. She has a wealth of knowledge, a fantastic personality as well as a bundle of energy and enthusiasm, which makes her the ideal person to support the opening of our new flagship hotel.

“Amanda knows Bath and its business community very well, which will really help in our effort to support and become involved.

“Her role will be to lead the sales and events team to showcase our fantastic new hotel locally, nationally and internationally.

“She will help shape and deliver our sales strategy as well as supporting the senior team to deliver outstanding service to all our guests.

The hotel is creating around 120 full-time jobs, including in front-of-house, kitchen and housekeeping roles.
