Bath-headquartered law firm Royds Withy King’s corporate team has advised the company behind Savvy Investor, the thought-leadership platform for institutional investors, on its acquisition by global business information provider Pageant Media.

Savvy Investor pulls together more than 10,000 white papers and other third-party content from across the investment management industry for more than 55,000 members worldwide in an easy-to-use, personalised digital platform.

The business behind it, Savvypro Networks, will continue continue to operate out of the company’s Bournemouth head office, where it employs a 23-strong team.

The acquisition is Pageant Media’s fifth since Intermediate Capital Group became the fast-growing firm’s strategic partner in February last year.

Pageant, which launched in London more than 20 years ago, has built into a global business information business serving the asset management industry, from hedge funds and mutual funds to private equity, real estate and credit/debt.

More than 2,500 institutional clients, including 94 of the world’s top 100 asset managers, use its products to help them allocate assets, raise funds and run their businesses more effectively.

Pageant Media chief executive Charlie Kerr said: “Savvy plays an important role in providing investors with valuable investment research and market insights. We are delighted to be able to add the service to our existing portfolio of information products targeted at asset allocation and fund-raising.”

Savvypro Networks CEO Andrew Perrins, who founded the business eight years ago, added: “Becoming part of Pageant Media provides Savvy Investor with a fantastic opportunity to accelerate our membership growth and enhance our service to partners and members alike.

“The deal provides a great springboard for the next phase in our growth and I’m excited to be joining such an ambitious and dynamic team.”

Royds Withy King’s team was led by partner James Worrall and included associate Nicola Anderson and senior associate Tim Gofton.

James, pictured, said: “It was a pleasure working with Andrew and the team at Savvy Investor on the transaction. It looks to be a great addition for the Pageant Media group and will further enhance Savvy Investor’s offering to its users.”

Financial details of the deal have not been undisclosed.

Royds Withy King’s corporate team advises regional, national and international businesses on the full spectrum of corporate matters. With expertise in financial services, technology, healthcare, social care and retail sectors and a particular focus on working with business owners with an entrepreneurial mindset, the firm is the natural fit for forward-thinking, dynamic businesses and industry disruptors.

The firm employs a total of 480 people across its offices in Bath, Bristol, Swindon, Oxford and London, provides a comprehensive range of legal services from corporate and commercial to family and private client and advises in a number of key sectors.
