Solicitor returns to Royds Withy King’s family law team in Bath

April 15, 2019

Bath-headquartered regional law firm Royds Withy King has welcomed back solicitor Laura Podger to its family law team in Bath.

Having qualified as a solicitor at the firm last year, Laura, pictured, spent around six months in national firm Irwin Mitchell’s Bristol office, where she worked on high-profile family law cases, before returning to Royds Withy King this month.

Laura started her career at Royds Withy King as a legal assistant in its clinical negligence department while studying for her Legal Practice Course (LPC) part-time at UWE Bristol.

She then carried out her training contract with seats in the firm’s corporate, private client and family teams.

Outside of work Laura is an Army reservist and hopes to draw on her experience to advise military personnel on the range of issues they face, including pension sharing and the Armed Forces Pension Scheme.

Laura said: “I am excited to return ‘home’ to Royds Withy King where I will specialise in high net-worth divorce, financial settlements and helping clients resolve disputes relating to children. My experience as a reservist means that I have a solid understanding of the issues that can arise and hope to offer military personnel guidance through these matters.”

Royds Withy King family team partner Will MacFarlane added: “We’re glad to welcome Laura back to the firm, bringing with her some fantastic experience. Laura’s decision to return is a testament to the fact that Royds Withy King is a great place to not only start your career but also to develop it.”

As well as two offices in Bath, Royds Withy King also has bases in London, Oxford, Swindon and Marlborough.

The firm employs around 520 people providing a comprehensive range of legal services spanning commercial, private client, personal injury and clinical negligence practice areas.
