Bath law firm Stone King is holding a free advice seminar for the spiralling number of people looking to buy a home with family or friends.

The event, at the Francis Hotel, Queen Square, on May 21 will explore the benefits and potential pitfalls of this growing form of home ownership.

Senior associate in the firm’s residential property team, Amanda Watts, said: “With the soaring rate of house prices, getting on the property ladder is an increasingly difficult task for first-time buyers and consequently more people are choosing to buy a house with friends or family.

“By sharing the deposit and mortgage repayments single people who do not have a large enough deposit or income to secure a mortgage are able to own part of a property and raise capital for future investments.”

Registration is from 5.30pm for a 6pm start. Places are strictly limited and must be pre-booked.
