Each week Bath Business News lets a prominent member of the city’s business community have the last word on its weekly e-bulletin.

We kick off the series with Nick Child, managing director of Bath-based Cardok UK, answering our 10 questions.

What was the LAST:

Film you watched?

The Monument Men – total rubbish. The last good film I watched was No Country For Old Men – cracking Coen brothers thriller with some great actors.

Book you read?

Mr Mercedes by Stephen King. Brilliant storyline but I cheated and listened to it on audiobook.

Music you bought?

99 Red Balloons – bit naff perhaps but heard it on the radio and remembered it from way back when.

Concert you went to?

Bryan Ferry – saw him perform at ‘Sporting Summer Festival’ in Monaco. Bit flash but he was really great and performed Avalon as good as the original.

Sporting event you attended?

In Monaco again, for the ATP Masters Tennis – saw Rafa Nadal among others play. Great day out.

Holiday you went on?

Bit like lunch really, haven’t got time for holidays. However, I did get to the South of France for our 14th wedding anniversary bash with some good friends at the beginning of July.

Restaurant you ate in?

The Richmond in Bath – great food, great service and you can take the dog along.

Thing that annoyed you?

People who put their supermarket trollies in front of the displays so you can’t get to them, and staff who forget to say ‘please' or thank you’ when you buy something. Oh yeah …and people who don’t say ‘you’ when you open a door for them.

Thing that made you laugh out loud?

That’s a no brainer – the pre-World Cup hype with reference to England’s chances of getting through. Sad but funny!

Piece of good advice you were given?

1) Don’t drink the water, I’ve seen what fish do in it!

2) Stop Smoking
