Creative work by Bath-based branding and design consultancy The Agency for the West of England new inward investment service has gone live this week at the world’s top gathering for the property and development industry.

The Agency has handled the brand, marketing and promotional roll-out for Invest in Bristol and Bath, a partnership between the councils covering Bristol, Bath, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire which is focussing on promoting the West’s Enterprise Zone and Areas.

The Invest in Bath and Bristol brand was unveiled this week at MIPIM, the international property showcase held annually in Cannes. A high-level delegation from the West, including Bath and North East Somerset Council leader Paul Crossley and recently-elected Mayor of Bristol George Ferguson, were at the event to promote the region.

The Invest in Bristol and Bath stand at MIPIM is providing a spectacular backdrop for the launch of the new brand. Reflecting the ‘blank canvas’ start of the new service, a dramatic blank white stand appeared at the beginning of the show on Monday and over the course of four-day event artists are creating a stunning, constantly-evolving design on the stand, reflecting the creativity and wealth of opportunities and high-growth business sectors that the region boasts.

Matt Cross, head of inward investment for Invest in Bristol and Bath, who is part of the delegation, said: “We have a unique and compelling proposition for corporate investors and developers. We are delighted to have appointed The Agency – they presented a very strong strategic and creative pitch and we’re looking forward to seeing all the hard work come to life at the event.

The service is promoting the region to UK-based and overseas investors by promoting the investment opportunities in six key areas across the West, which includes the Bristol Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone, which in itself covers more than 70 hectares of real estate in the heartland of Bristol, as well as Bath’s Western Riverside, which is designated as an Enterprise Area.

The service aims to attract major investment into the West over the next 25 years and open up opportunities for more than 6,000 new jobs in the next five years alone. It will be promoted on an international stage by Bristol and Bath and supported by the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).

Saman Mansourpour, partner at The Agency, said: “We’ve worked closely with the four councils to define a brand that encapsulates the region’s enterprising culture and showcases its commitment to business now and in the future. The success of the region’s economy has always been down to its people, and the people that reside here now continue to shape a commercial success story that spans the globe. We’re proud to be part of it.”

The prestigious initiative is the latest in a number of success stories linked to The Agency and its clients. The company has had accelerated growth of more than 100% over the past 12 months and celebrated a number of high-profile appointments and three new account wins since December 2012.

It has considerable experience in the automotive, retail, pharmaceutical, financial, Fast-moving consumer goods and gaming sectors. Clients include The AA, BT, BSM, Del Monte and PC Gamer.
