Each week Bath Business News gives a prominent member of the city’s business community the last word on its weekly e-bulletin.

This week Alison Allen, head of Stone King’s trusts and estates team, answers our 10 questions.

What was the LAST

Film you watched? Into the Storm with my 13-year-old twins. It’s a weather disaster film about a group of high school students who get caught up in a storm. It was quite exciting and an ideal thing to see on a wet Sunday afternoon.

Book you read? Before I go to Sleep by SJ Watson, which has just been made into a film. It’s a thriller and whodunit about a woman with amnesia and someone who claims to be her husband. It’s a clever book and a real page-turner.

Music you bought or downloaded? I bought a CD collection of number one hits to play in the car to keep the family entertained on a long drive to the Lake District and stop everyone arguing.

Concert you went to? I went to the Edinburgh International Festival with my 17-year-old daughter and we saw the Scottish Chamber Orchestra perform in time to a firework display above Edinburgh Castle. It was really spectacular.

Sporting event you attended? Every Saturday morning I take part in the 5km parkrun at Ashton Court, Bristol. You get quite a mix of people, from experienced club runners to people running with pushchairs and their dogs!

Holiday you went on? Italy. We went walking in the Dolomites and visited some First World War sites high up in the mountains where the Austrians and the Italians once fought. It was an incredible experience.

Restaurant you ate in? The Firehouse Rotisserie in Bath. It’s great Californian-style cooking and the food is reasonably healthy. The service is good and the staff are very friendly.

Thing that annoyed you? My son has become a vegetarian so I bought him some expensive veggie food, but he’s left half of it in the fridge uneaten.

Thing that made you laugh out loud? Watching The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice presented by Jo Brand. People send in photos of cakes that have gone wrong and some of them are very funny.

Piece of good advice you were given? You need to learn to say ‘no’ sometimes.
