Each week Bath Business News gives a prominent member of the city’s business community the last word on our weekly e-bulletin. This week James Gare, a partner at regional accountancy firm Monahans, answers our 10 questions.

What was the LAST:

Film you watched? An independent film called Brash Young Turks. It was made by some friends of mine who run a small Community Interest Company that makes films and works with young people. Myself and my daughter had a small walk on part so I was keen to see our big screen debut! I had to travel to London to see it.

Book you read? I am interested in psychology and recently did a year-long course on Carl Jung, the Swiss analytical psychologist. There was lots of reading to do for the course, I particularly enjoyed Man and his Symbols. That said, I think have had my fill of studying for a while so I am looking for something a bit lighter for my next read.

Music you bought or downloaded? I recently downloaded Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming by French band M83. I really like the band as it is heavily influenced by the synthesizer music of the 80s, which is the music I grew up with.

Concert or play you went to? The last play I attended was a school production that my daughter was in. I am not entirely sure what the name of the production was, but she was a Victorian waif and in my biased opinion was brilliant.

Sporting event you attended? Earlier in the year the whole family took part in the Sarsen Trail and Neolithic Marathon, organised by the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust (although we did the shortened family-friendly, seven-mile section). It was spectacularly beautiful walk which I thoroughly enjoyed, although the children were fairly resistant to the concept between miles 3 and 5.

Holiday you went on? Last Easter we visited Greece. Easter is a very important time in the Greek calendar (perhaps more so than Christmas), so it was a wonderful time to visit the country and enjoy their culture.

Restaurant you ate in? Very close to our Trowbridge office is a small, family-run restaurant called Caffe Italiano. It is a simple no frills restaurant, which makes good honest Italian food. It is a firm favorite with my children as the pizzas are huge!

Thing that annoyed you? We have recently moved to the area from London so I have had to get some new furniture for the house. We did a trip to IKEA, which I always find a difficult experience as I can never find the items we went for and I always seem to end up buying a trolley load of stuff I didn’t realise I needed until I got there!

Thing that made you laugh out loud? A video of my friend doing indoor sky diving. They basically shove you in a tube of quickly moving air and you float around. My friend was not very aerodynamic and spent a lot of time bouncing off the walls. Luckily he has a good sense of humor and posted the video on line with the Benny Hill theme tune overlaid on top. It was very very funny.

Piece of good advice you were given? Don’t try indoor skydiving!
